How to build a great career in film industry

Industry expert and former film industry star Thor Ingalls has penned a book detailing his journey from the humble beginnings of a local video store in the 1980s to a leading film industry and film production firm in Australia.

Ingalls is the founder of Ingalls Production, a production company that has been at the forefront of the digital distribution of films, with films being distributed by digital video on demand platforms like Netflix and YouTube.

In the book, Ingalls says the film industry has seen a resurgence of interest in making films in the past two decades, which has led to a surge in demand.

“I can’t remember the last time that a film industry was booming like it is now,” Ingalls said.

The demand for digital films is so great, there’s been a resurgence for digital film production.””

We’re seeing a resurgence in the way we do things in film.

The demand for digital films is so great, there’s been a resurgence for digital film production.”

In his book, The Rise of Digital Cinema, Ingels writes about his time working for a local television station in the early 1990s, and how he was forced to turn to digital distribution, despite not having any experience with it.

He writes that the experience left a mark on him.

“It was one of those situations where you were just looking at a big, big screen in your living room, and you didn’t know what the hell was going on in the background,” Ingles said.

“I felt I’d never experienced anything like that before, I just knew that it was something special.”

Ingalls says it was in his final year at the station, after working at other stations for a decade, that he realised he had something special in his hands.

“The one thing that stood out to me was how little I actually knew about the industry,” he said.

Ingalls told News.au he is proud to be a part of the industry he helped build, and is confident that film production will continue to thrive.

“We have the talent and the money to make the film, but we also have the people and the people have the power to make that film,” he says.

“If the people don’t know how to make film, then they can’t do it.”
